Our 2013 Summer Travel Plans
By the time you read this, my husband and I will be on the road driving for the first of many miles for our summer travels. We are here, there and everywhere over the next couple of weeks! Take a look at our plan.
First, we’re driving (straight through) to San Antonio for my youngest sister’s wedding. Yay! We will stop in Houston to see our friends, Michael and Clare, and meet their new baby. We’re looking forward to spending time with the Barzes in Texas and celebrating Mikaela’s wedding. It’s hard to believe it’s been a year and a half since I’ve been in San Antonio, and even longer for Andy! On our way home, we’ll stop by Vicksburg, Mississippi, to see the Civil War sites there. My husband’s a history teacher so this will be a good detour / stop.
After San Antonio, we drive home to meet up with Andy’s parents and sister. Together, we’ll drive out to Virginia / Washington DC. Last year, we traveled to Boston and New York City together. This year, it’s Washington DC and the surrounding historic areas – including Gettysburg.
Once more, we’ll drive home and then turn around (within hours) to leave for St. Louis. Why? We’re spending time with our college friends for a couple days. We hosted last year, so this year, Joel and Saydi are hosting. We hope to see Mikaela and JohnDavid’s new apartment while we’re there, too.
It will be a lot of driving. A lot. It’s a good thing my husband is such a good driver and navigator! We’re looking forward to the time with family and friends. I have some posts scheduled for while I’m gone, so I hope you enjoy those. For now, pray for safe travels across the almost 5,000 miles we’ll be driving! I pray the same for you and your summer travels.
Kristen,
I find it very funny you post a map of your summer travels with lines going all over right after your post about a straight path! I just got a chuckle. Anyway, I hope you have safe travels and lots of fun times creating memories! Enjoy!
Ha! I hadn’t noticed that Anna. Good catch! Our travels have been wonderful so far, and I’m looking forward to more wonderful travels as we leave tomorrow for DC with Mr. Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Whirrett! 🙂
