Small Shopping Trips & Meijer Love

The kids and I did a small shopping trip. So small and quick that I didn’t even take Emma out of her seat. There are advantages to those infant car seat carriers, especially on rainy days!

We didn’t get much at Meijer but I went because of a great deal on soup and crackers.

Meijer - 10/20/16 - $18.39

I bought 8 cans of soup (4 not pictured) for only $0.63 a can. That’s over half off and perfect for a quick and healthy winter lunch. The Santa Fe Light soup is my favorite.

Emma has also started eating yogurt so we bought two more of the Dannon Whole Milk yogurts. They were on sale for $0.50 but I had a b1g1 printable coupon. She loves yogurt!

I bought 5 boxes of Ritz crackers because they were on sale for $1.69 a box. We’re doing a freezer cooking morning with my Moms group at church in November. Since my poppy seed chicken recipe was requested again, I went ahead and bought crackers while they were on sale. I also bought Imperial margarine ($0.69 a box) on sale for that day, too.

We bought a small bunch of grapes for $0.68/lb. It’s obviously the end of grape season but Nathan requested some for lunch.

I spent $18.39 this week on groceries.

I also shopped the two day sale at Meijer over last weekend to pick up General Mills cereal for $0.99 a box (I bought 4 boxes) and boneless, skinless chicken breasts for $1.49/lb. I bought 10 pounds, knowing I’ll need chicken for that freezer cooking day. I spent $21.51 on that trip.

That brings me to $39.90 for this week of shopping and $200.80 for the month of October. Thanks to good deals at Meijer and not much shopping, I’m still $40 under budget! I love that Meijer helps me stay on budget.

Really, there are so many reasons we love Meijer! Good every day prices and great sales top the list. Next up is the fact that it’s a super store and I don’t have to go to multiple stores. Shopping with two little ones makes this a necessity, certain days.

Then, there are fish to see and penny horses to ride. As you can see, both my kids really love Meijer – just like their Mom!

Meijer Love - Oh, yes, we do love Meijer!

Nothing much else to report here this week! It was rather low-key. We ate from the pantry lots and I spent some time really cleaning. How was your week?
