Easy Homemade Wassail

Easy Wassail Recipe - I love homemade wassail! And this recipe is so simple and absolutely delicious. A great winter drink!

Homemade wassail is a nice winter recipe to serve to a crowd. Slightly tangy, this easy wassail recipe is delicious hot or cold.

Ingredients

  • 23 sticks cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon whole cloves
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • 4 quarts (16 cups) apple juice
  • 1 quart (4 cups) orange juice
  • 1 cup lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Boil cinnamon stick and cloves in water and sugar. Boil until sugar is dissolved. Cool.
  2. Mix juices into pan. Simmer. You can strain out the cloves and cinnamon before serving, or leave them in the pot to flavor the wassail that remains.
  3. Serve hot. This recipe makes about 2 gallons of wassail.
  4. Refrigerate leftovers. Enjoy remaining wassail cold or reheat to serve warm.

Notes

If you don’t have cinnamon sticks, you can substitute 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon for each cinnamon stick.
