Spritz Cookies Recipe

  • 1 1/2 cups butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups flour


  1. In a mixer, cream butter with sugar.
  2. Add egg and vanilla.
  3. Add flour, one cup at a time until dough is mixed well. The dough will be soft but do not refrigerate.
  4. Fill your spritz cookie press with dough. Follow the directions on your particular cookie press to make your spritz cookies.
  5. Press the spritz cookies onto a cookie sheet, 1 inch part. Decorate with sprinkles or colored sugar, if desired.
  6. Bake cookies at 375 degrees for 11 to 13 minutes or until firm.
  7. Cool cookies on the cookie sheet before removing to the cooling rack. This recipe yields 6 dozen cookies. Store cookies in an airtight container in the freezer.
