Easy Chocolate Pancakes Recipe

If you like chocolate, try making these chocolate chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast. A delicious way to start your day!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Mix 2 1/2 cups milk with 2 tablespoons vinegar to make homemade buttermilk. Let sit for 5 minutes while you begin the rest of the recipe.
  2. Melt butter.
  3. Stir in sugar, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon.
  4. Stir in eggs and mix well.
  5. Pour in milk and stir batter.
  6. Add in flour and mix until batter is thoroughly combined.
  7. Stir in cocoa powder.
  8. Finally, stir in mini chocolate chips.
  9. Preheat griddle and grease with bacon grease or oil.
  10. Use a large cookie scoop (or 1/4 cup measuring cup) to pour pancakes onto a hot griddle.
  11. Let pancakes cook until bubbles begin to appear on the pancake.
  12. Flip pancake. Cook until pancake is lightly brown and cooked all the way through.
  13. Serve hot and enjoy! I recommend serving pancakes warm and topped with whipping cream.

Notes

This recipe freezes well. Allow pancakes to cool completely before freezing.
