100 Stocking Stuffers Under $5 for Everyone on Your List
Stockings are one of my favorite parts of Christmas, although our family does stockings a little differently. We celebrate the 12 days of Christmas by opening one small stocking stuffer each day, beginning on December 26 and continuing through Epiphany on January 6.
I know most families open their stockings on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day and put several items in each stocking at once. However your family celebrates, those little gifts can add up quickly—especially when you are filling stockings for an entire family.
With four children, I am always looking for ways to stretch my dollars while still finding something enjoyable, special and sometimes practical. It is easy to think, “It’s only $5,” and suddenly spend far more than you planned. Thankfully, you really can fill stockings with thoughtful and fun gifts without spending a lot of money.
Every stocking stuffer on this list is truly under $5—or comes in a multipack that can be divided between several people for less than $5 each. You don’t need to shop at specialty stores, either. These are simple ideas you can find at normal places such as Walmart, Target and Amazon.
The best way to save is to plan ahead. Start watching for small gifts several weeks (or months!) before Christmas instead of trying to fill every stocking at the last minute. Check the clearance aisles, too. I actually shop all year long for little stocking stuffers on clearance. Anything I find, I put in a box with gifts, and that helps save me time and money when Christmas rolls around.
Multipacks are another great way to stretch your dollars. For example, buy a multipack of Play-Doh and give each child a different color. Divide a package of pens, hair accessories or bag clips between several stockings. You can also give everyone in your family the same food treat—such as a favorite candy bar or package of popcorn—without making every stocking exactly alike.
Don’t forget to watch the sales at the grocery store, too. Candy, gum, jerky, nuts, drink mixes and other treats often go on sale throughout November and December. Pair those sale items with a few small gifts, and you can create a fun stocking without filling it with expensive clutter.
Whether you are shopping for a baby, child, teenager or adult, here are 100 affordable stocking stuffers under $5 for everyone on your list.

Stocking Stuffers Under $5 for Babies and Toddlers
When filling a stocking for a baby or toddler, keep it simple. Remember to check the recommended age and avoid small items that could be choking hazards.

- Indestructible-style baby book – These lightweight, washable books are designed to withstand chewing, bending and plenty of crumpling by little hands. This series is my absolute favorite, and I can personally vouch that they never tear and hold up well in the washing machine – even after 4 kids! Even better, they are almost all under $5!
