Free Printable Thanksgiving Gift Tags for Teachers and Friends
Looking for a simple way to tell someone you are thankful for them? These free printable Thanksgiving gift tags make it easy to turn a small treat into a thoughtful gift for teachers, coworkers, school staff or friends.
As a former teacher and a mom of four, I know there are plenty of people who deserve a thank you! Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to remember the teachers and other people who help our families throughout the year.
Showing your appreciation doesn’t have to mean buying an expensive gift. A few cookies, a favorite candy or a slice of pie with a little note can be a sweet way to say, “We are thankful for you!”
I created these Thanksgiving appreciation tags to make giving little gifts easy – and with a special touch. You can attach them to individual treats or use the included full-page signs beside a tray of goodies to thank a whole group.

Easy Thanksgiving Teacher Gifts and Treat Ideas
These Thanksgiving teacher gift tags are a simple way to thank your child’s classroom teacher, an aide, a specials teacher or another member of the school staff.
You don’t need a big gift basket or fancy packaging. Choose something the recipient enjoys, add a tag and let your child help deliver it before Thanksgiving break.
Here are a few easy ways to pair the tags with a small gift:
- Cookies: Put a few homemade cookies (these monster cookies are always a favorite) or store-bought ones in a treat bag and add the “A Thanksgiving treat for someone so sweet” tag.
- A slice of pie: Pair a wrapped slice or a small individual pie with “Any way you slice it, we are grateful for you.”
- A favorite candy: Divide a larger package into small bags and attach a “We are so thankful for you” tag.
- A mini loaf of bread: Wrap pumpkin bread or another favorite quick bread and finish it with a fall appreciation tag.
- A practical little gift: Attach a tag to a nice pen, a small notepad or another useful item if you would rather give something besides food.
Not sure what your teacher likes? My free Favorite Things printable is an easy way to learn about favorite snacks, treats and other little things before choosing a gift. It works for coworkers and friends, too!
Buying a multipack and dividing it among several people is one of my favorite ways to keep gifts affordable. You can do the same thing with a batch of homemade treats.

Use the Full-Page Thanksgiving Signs to Thank a Whole Group
Want to thank several people at once? You don’t have to package a separate gift for everyone.
The full-page versions make it easy to put together a shared Thanksgiving appreciation treat for a teachers’ lounge, office break room or group of volunteers.
Print your favorite design and place it in a frame or prop it beside the food. Here are a few simple combinations:
- Set the “We are so thankful for you” sign beside a basket of individually wrapped snacks.
- Place “A Thanksgiving treat for someone so sweet” beside a tray of cookies or brownies.
- Use “Any way you slice it, we are grateful for you” with a pie for everyone to share.
This is a nice way to include the school secretary, aides, custodians and other staff members who help keep the school running. It also works for thanking your coworkers or a team of church volunteers.
You can use the small Thanksgiving treat tags for individual gifts and the matching full-page sign for the shared table. Both options are included in the same free download.
Thanksgiving Appreciation Tags for Coworkers and Friends
Although these printables work well for teacher gifts, none of the messages are limited to teachers. You can use them for anyone you want to thank.
Attach a tag to a small gift for a coworker, deliver a treat to a helpful neighbor or leave a little surprise for a friend. They also work for employee appreciation gifts or a Thanksgiving hostess gift.
The thankful for you tags are an easy way to make a small gesture feel personal. Write your name on the back, or add a sentence about something specific you appreciate about the recipient.

How to Print and Use Your Thanksgiving Gift Tags
Putting together your gifts only takes a few simple steps.
- Download the free PDF using the link below.
- Choose the design you want to use. Print the four-to-a-page version for individual gifts or the full-page version for an appreciation sign.
- Print on paper or cardstock. Regular paper works well if you are taping the notes onto a package. I prefer cardstock to give the tags a little more strength if you plan to tie them on.
- Cut the small tags apart with scissors or a paper cutter.
- Attach a tag to your gift. Use tape, or punch a hole and tie it on with ribbon or twine.
Add your name or a little handwritten note, and your Thanksgiving appreciation gift is ready to give!
