Christmas Number Puzzles for Numbers 1 to 10
The 1 to 10 puzzles are a good place to start with preschoolers who are learning to recognize numbers and put them in order.
Children can choose a Christmas tree, candy cane, gingerbread man, nutcracker or ornament. As they arrange the strips from 1 to 10, their Christmas picture comes together!

Christmas Number Puzzles for Numbers 11 to 20
Ready to practice teen numbers? These puzzles focus on putting numbers 11 to 20 in order.
Choose from Christmas tree, stocking, elf and Santa pictures. This is a simple way to give children more practice recognizing teen numbers while working toward a finished picture.

Christmas Skip Counting Puzzles by 2s
For children who are ready to try skip counting, this set includes puzzles numbered 2, 4, 6, 8 and so on, up to 20.
Try saying the numbers together before your child begins. Then let them arrange the strips to complete their Christmas picture.

Christmas Skip Counting Puzzles by 10s
The final set practices counting by 10s from 10 to 100. These puzzles include Christmas trees, stockings, lights, presents and winter characters.
Choose this option when your child is ready to work on counting by 10s. Having several number sequences makes it easy to use the same activity with children who are working on different skills.

How to Use These Christmas Number Order Puzzles
You only need a few supplies to get started:
- Your printed puzzle and matching blank number page
- Scissors
- A glue stick
Here is how to complete the activity.
- Choose and print a puzzle. Print the picture page and the blank page with the same number sequence. Regular printer paper works well for this cut-and-paste activity.
- Cut along the horizontal lines. Let children practice cutting with supervision, or cut the strips ahead of time for younger children.
- Put the numbers in order. Have your child arrange the strips on the matching blank number page. Check the sequence together before gluing.
- Glue the strips in place. Now your child has a completed Christmas picture!
These Christmas sequencing puzzles give children practice with number recognition, number order and fine motor skills. The picture also gives them a clue when a strip is out of place.
This was my favorite use of Christmas sequencing puzzles.
Using Christmas Number Puzzles as a Math Center
If you would like to use these puzzles more than once, you can turn them into a reusable Christmas math center.
Print the puzzles on cardstock, cut the strips apart before laminating, then laminate and trim the pieces. Children can arrange the strips on a table or use a matching blank number page as a guide, without gluing them down.
Keep each puzzle in its own bag or envelope so the pieces stay together. I would start with one puzzle at a time, especially for younger preschoolers.
At home, you can let your child choose a favorite picture and work on it together. There is no need to complete every puzzle. Pick the numbers your child is practicing and save the other options for later!
